I build software. Backend systems for a living, since 2008 — currently in ad tech in Freiburg. Command-line tools, agent pipelines and the occasional web app on my own time.

The places have varied more than the work: a ten-person outsourcing shop, a two-man company with no budget, four years on my own invoicing clients, and a hundred-person startup in San Francisco with an eight-figure budget. Serbian, American, German and Irish employers. I have been the entire team, and I have led one.

What changed recently is how I work. For most of those years I wrote every line myself. Now I mostly describe the work, direct agents through it, and read what comes back — which turns out to be a different skill, and an evolving one.
